Enhance Your Forest For Wildlife!

2^nd Annual Indiana Coverts Project Forest Wildlife Management Workshop

 September 26-29, 2002 – Indiana FFA Center in Trafalgar, Indiana

The Indiana Coverts Project is a special effort to improve wildlife habitat through sound forest management practices.  It is funded by the Ruffed Grouse Society, and conducted by Purdue University Cooperative Extension Service in cooperation with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, Divisions of Forestry and Fish and Wildlife.

 Who Should Attend?

Forest landowners, teachers, or anyone with an interest in our environment!  The program is FREE and includes room and meals!  In return for their training at this 3.5-day workshop, Coverts participants are asked to implement forest management practices on their own land, and participate in community-outreach activities.

 What will you Learn?

 Learn about forest and wildlife ecology for species of birds, mammals, and amphibians, forest management concepts, management plans and outreach planning, and more!  Classroom sessions will be reinforced with field trips to different forests in the area. 

The program will begin the evening of the 26^th and conclude after lunch on the 29^th.
